Whether you choose a staycation or an overseas escape, it’s never been as important as it is, at this moment in time to take a break from work, the home office, furlough, the job search and the general negative impact months of lockdown and social distancing will have had on you, and your relationships with family, friends and colleagues.
After 4 months of social distancing we crossed the border into Wales for our Summer Refresh (aka a much, needed break). Yet we were surprised, at how surprised we were by the amount of traffic on the roads, the crowds on the beaches, the varying and confusing interpretations of social distancing, long conversations, new conversations and at times the worrying speed at which many had gone back to life BC (before covid).
The time, space, change of scene and routine, allowed us to reflect on what we’d been through, and that the daily exercise hour, snatched conversations with neighbours during the weekly NHS applause, home deliveries, Netflix, WhatsApp groups, zooms and quiz nights were all a poor substitute for life as we’d known it BC.
I’d had plenty of time during lockdown to follow the governments review, reset, refocus, restart mantra but no time for a simple, uncomplicated, relaxed, refresh of the business in terms of its post lockdown relevance than I did during my time away.
Finding time for your own Summer Refresh can be good for the mind, body, and soul as well as your business.
